The mission of the Benedictine University Archives is to collect and preserve materials which record and exhibit the history and life of the College. To do so, the Benedictine University :

Managing Records
The Benedictine University Archives is a collecting repository that preserves and makes accessible institutional records of enduring value as well as gathering collections with research and local historical value even if unrelated to Ben U. To accomplish this mission, we gather records through a records management program as well as individual solicitations and donations. The links below provide more detail about transferring institutional records (including the types of records we collect) and donating materials. When in doubt of transferring records to the Archives, please contact Julie Wroblewski, Archives & Special Collections Librarian, at 630.829.6064 or [email protected] before materials are destroyed.
The mission of the Benedictine University Archives is to collect and preserve materials which record and exhibit the history and life of the College. To do so, the Benedictine University :
- Appraises, collects, organizes, describes, preserves, and provides access to materials of historical, legal, fiscal, and/or administrative value to the school.
- Serves research and scholarship by assisting and encouraging the use of its collections by members of the college community as well as the community at large.
- Promotes knowledge and understanding of the school’s origins, programs, and goals.

- College publications
- Photographs, both hard copy and digital
- Faculty meeting minutes
- Student organization records
- Board of Trustees minutes
- Presidential correspondence & records
- Faculty papers & publications
- Alumni papers & publications
- Departmental records
- Media (CDs, DVDs, etc.)
- Artifacts
